Tight Fixtures & Left Back Woes
Arsenal can be an irritating bug on our asses. Keeping pace with us and constantly closing up the 5 point gap is a difficult pressure to handle. And coupled with a mad 4 games in 10 days, slipping up could prove disastrous for us. Even a draw could enable Arsenal to close the gap even more given their winning ways during this Christmas period. However we have been doing well ourselves, with vital away wins against Liverpool and Portsmouth. Practically having to work our asses off to claim all 3 points against these tough opponents, which for the millionth time affirms the fact that we are genuine title contenders. Our rivals are steadily claiming points as well. Man U getting in form and Arsenal looking unstoppable, a home win against Boro will be what we need to be ahead of the pack. However we can at least be assured that Man U will have a tough fixture against high-scoring Spurs. But Arsenal looks set to mow over Man City.
Interesting point to note: Paulo Ferreira is playing at LB for the previous 2 games. He looks very unstable, worse than Gallas. But Bridge is still out so we have to make do with whatever resources that are available. Injuries to Smertin, Parker, Carvalho and Huth have yet to hamper our squad's performance. Injured Babayaro has also just moved to Newcastle though I would prefer to see him in Chelsea colors. Bridge would also better be seeing the Physio more often and goddamn be fit soon. However, a summer transfer is not really necessary in my opinion. Maybe we could see alot more of Geremi whose defensive instincts and presence may contribute greatly to our cause. And let Joe Cole play more in the starting XI especially in the Carling Cup.
Optimism: New training ground for a new year. In Your Face Wenger!
Happy New Year
