Old Returns & New Signings

Crespo is back! I can't describe how jubiliant I feel without getting off this chair to do a little jig to some sexy soca. He is a instinctive goal poacher, a lethal goal scorer and a fearsome opponent for any defender. I would love to see how he pairs up with Eidur and Drogba. Although in an ideal world we would play all three up front and crush the opposing team senseless. Carlton Cole decided to stay as well after his disappointing loan spell with Aston Villa. He proved he has the strength, skill and head to compete at the highest level during the start of season 02/03, so we could throw him into the fray during FA Cup and Carling Cup matches and see how he fares. Our strike force thus is complete despite Kezman (what a goatee) leaving. I had admired his enthusiasm and team work but too bad it didn't work out for him. And what a goatee! Forssell to Birmingham is another outgoing transfer that I resent. He is a striker made for the Premiership and I rate him higher than Carlton Cole.

At current time Essien has yet to finalise his move to Chelsea. However I haven't seen Essien in action before so he is still doubtful in my eyes. Praise the Lord and his mother that Steven Gerrard didn't come. He is one overated player and having watched several Liverpool games, he really is not good enough for Chelsea. Parker left to join Newcastle and Smertin had just left to join Charlton on loan. But our midfield is still intact with Lampard, Tiago, Makelele and Geremi (whom I really came to like towards the end of last season). We have our flying wingers in Duff, Robben and Joe Cole. And if all else fails Jarosik can be thrown into the melee... I take that back. We need another midfielder in Essien/SWP. There are only 4 midfield places up for grabs per game, and Eidur can fit into the mold if necessary.

Our defences had been boosted. Del Horno is first choice for me as Wayne Bridge had been out for quite sometime. Also Huth had been well worked during the Confederations Cup and Gallas refused to move to Barcelona or Liverpool which is naturally great news for us. Johnson and Ferreira will resume their right back position, and with Captain Terry and Carvalho ready and waiting, clean sheets shall be a norm next season.

All things point to another successful 05/06 season. Come on you Blues!
